As part of the project “Uživam tradicijo” (Enjoy Tradition) , a Handbook for Activating the Heritage Community entitled FIVE PILLARS was published.

It is intended for all of you who have recognized the potentials of active preservation of culinary heritage through heritage communities. The manual offers you support through five pillars or five sets of the model of operation of heritage communities – heritage, interpretation, business, project and set of social power. A model designed by the Slovenian Heritage Interpretation Network (SMID), which we have been living at the Parnas Institute for many years. Through the “Uživam tradicijo” project, we also transferred skills and knowledge to other partners and helped them monitor and promote the functioning of their heritage communities.

In addition to the five-pillar model, the handbook also elaborates a provider standardization model that can be used by any individual as a marketing tool and a network development collaboration tool. With it, network coordinators can use it to manage the network of individuals and establish matrix control over the condition and quality of a group of individuals.

The contents are enriched with the presentation of all eight partners on the established transversal from Pannonia to the Adriatic, together with photos of project activities, the presentation of selected culinary heritage dishes, which we also equipped with recipes.

The manual was illustrated by illustrator Marija Prelog, it has also been translated into Croatian and English, and it has been printed in 1000 copies. The manual is available on the e-link Priročnik pet stebrov/ Manual Five pillars, and is also available in physical form at the Parnas Institute for all those interested.
